Baradari

An open pavilion of Mughal and Indian architecture, traditionally fitted with twelve doorways or arcades, hence its name derived from the Persian for twelve doors. The baradari encourages cross-ventilation and offers a cool retreat at the heart of gardens. Frequently set at the centre of a char bagh, it once hosted receptions and concerts. These pavilions grace the gardens of Indian palace hotels, framing open-air gatherings and views.
