Barolo

Barolo refers to a DOCG appellation in Piedmont, northwest Italy, its zone lying southwest of Alba. The wine is produced entirely from the nebbiolo grape, grown on the calcareous clay hills of the Langhe. Among the very first Italian wines granted DOCG status in 1980, it is prized for firm tannins, bracing acidity and a remarkable capacity to age for decades in bottle, earning lasting international acclaim.
