Barrel-aged cocktail

A barrel-aged cocktail is a pre-mixed drink then matured in a small oak barrel, whose capacity usually ranges from four to twenty litres. Resting in contact with the wood rounds the flavours and develops vanilla, dried-fruit and toasted notes absent from the fresh mix. Popularised in the early twenty-tens, it has become a signature of high-end bars.
