Bauer-Grünwald Family

The Bauer-Grünwald family founded the Grand Hotel d'Italie Bauer-Grünwald in Venice in 1880. Mr Bauer, director of the Hotel de la Ville, partnered with Julius Grünwald, an Austrian who married his daughter, sealing a tradition of family management. The hotel was enlarged between 1900 and 1902 in a neo-Gothic style before being sold in 1930 to shipbuilder Arnaldo Bennati.
