Beach villa
A beach villa is a private villa directly on the sand, you walk out your back door, cross your garden, and you're on the beach. No road to cross, no shuttle, no walk through the resort. The key difference from an overwater villa: beach villas are bigger, more horizontal, family-friendly, and have private outdoor gardens. Found at: Soneva Fushi (Maldives, with four-bedroom beach villas for whole families), One&Only Reethi Rah, Cheval Blanc St-Barth, Four Seasons Anguilla, Aman Sveti Stefan in Montenegro. Rates: $2,000 to $12,000 a night. The typical pick for traveling families who want privacy and beach access; the typical pick for honeymooners is the overwater villa. Different market, different cliché.
