Belmond
Belmond is a collection of luxury hotels, trains and cruises founded in 1976 by American entrepreneur James Sherwood around the purchase of the Hotel Cipriani in Venice. Long known as Orient-Express Hotels, the company adopted the Belmond name in 2014, a contraction of "beautiful world". LVMH acquired the group in 2019 for 3.2 billion dollars, and it operates iconic assets including the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train.
