Boynton Canyon vortex
['Boynton vortex', 'Sedona vortex Boynton']
The Boynton Canyon vortex refers to one of the four major sites identified in Sedona, Arizona, by contemporary spiritual tourism tradition as a specific telluric energy point (Native American vortex tourism Sedona, 2024). The notion of vortex emerged in the 1980s, popularised by esoteric author Page Bryant, and grafted onto Yavapai-Apache cosmology which regards Boynton Canyon as the place of emergence of the Yavapai people. The canyon hosts Enchantment Resort, opened in 1987, which anchors its Mii amo spa programme on indigenous practices adapted into contemporary meditation. A lesser-known feature : the Vista trail leading to the vortex point records 320,000 hikers per year, placing Boynton Canyon among the most-visited trails in Arizona.
