Burgundian Clos
A vineyard parcel surrounded by stone walls, a legacy of medieval monks who replaced wooden fences with durable enclosures. Many Burgundian grands crus, such as Clos de Vougeot or Clos de Tart, bear this name. The clos materialises the historical delimitation of a terroir and feeds the heritage narrative of great wine lists.
