Cabernet Franc

Cabernet Franc is a red grape closely related to Cabernet Sauvignon, being one of its parents. It reigns over the Loire wines of Chinon, Bourgueil and Saumur-Champigny, while also featuring in Bordeaux blends, notably in Saint-Emilion. Earlier ripening and less tannic than Cabernet Sauvignon, it produces perfumed wines with notes of raspberry, bell pepper and graphite pencil, prized for their distinctive aromatic finesse and lift.
