Calvados

Calvados refers to a Norman spirit distilled from apple cider, and sometimes pear, protected by an appellation d'origine contrôlée. Aged in oak casks, it expresses aromas of baked apple, dried fruit and spice. In mixology it stands in with character for grape spirits in classics such as the corpse reviver or the apple jack, lending a recognisable fruity freshness to autumn cocktails.
