Channel setting

Technique of cutting a groove into the metal then sliding stones between two parallel walls that hold them by the girdle. No claws interrupt the alignment, creating a continuous ribbon of gems. Channel setting protects stones well and suits eternity rings and line bracelets. Palace houses use it for rigorously aligned baguettes, where the unbroken band reinforces a clean, architectural look.
