Coda
The final section of the grand pas de deux, whose name means tail in Italian. The coda brings the two dancers back together and recapitulates, at a lively tempo, the themes of the adagio and the variations in a brilliant finale. It often culminates in a succession of spectacular turns and jumps. The coda closes the great duets of the ballets proposed to palace guests on a peak of virtuosity, sending the audience into applause.
