Crown

Upper portion of a cut stone, lying above the girdle. It brings together the table and a set of facets including stars, bezels and upper main facets. The height of the crown and the angle of its facets contribute to the dispersion of light that produces the stone's fire. On a round brilliant, the crown typically carries thirty-three facets above the girdle line.
