F&B
F&B (Food and Beverage) is the hotel department responsible for all food and drink operations. At a luxury hotel, F&B typically includes the signature restaurant, casual dining, bars, lobby lounge, room service, banquet operations (weddings, conferences), and sometimes a coffee shop or bakery. The F&B Director oversees all of this, often with 50-200+ staff. What this means for guests: when you check in, you can usually request information from the F&B concierge about all dining options on property, including hidden gems like late-night bar menus, in-room private dining experiences, picnic baskets for excursions, or rooftop bars. Many hotels offer F&B credit packages (e.g., 100 EUR per night to spend on dining), ask about these when booking, especially during off-season.
