INAO tasting glass

The INAO tasting glass is the standardised tasting glass, adopted by the French appellation body and covered by the ISO 3591 standard since 1977. Its tulip shape, holding roughly 210 millilitres, narrows the rim to concentrate aromas towards the nose. The crystal must stay colourless so the taster can judge the wine's hue and clarity. Standardised in form, it acts as a neutral reference for comparing different wines against one another objectively.
