Le Negresco (Nice)

Le Negresco is a Nice palace hotel on the Promenade des Anglais, opened on 8 January 1913 and recognisable by its white façade and pink dome. It bears the name of Henri Negresco, an innkeeper's son turned restaurant manager, who had the hotel built by Dutch-born architect Édouard Niermans. Ruined after turning the hotel into a hospital during the First World War, Negresco died in Paris in 1920.
