Les Clés d'Or

Les Clés d'Or (literally "the golden keys") is the international society of professional concierges, founded in Paris in 1929. When you see those two crossed gold keys pinned to a concierge's lapel, it means they've passed strict membership requirements: at least five years of full-time concierge experience, sponsorship by existing members, and approval by a regional committee. The benefit for you as a guest: members can call colleagues anywhere in the world to help with your trip. About 4,000 concierges across 80 countries carry the keys today. Major properties, Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Mandarin Oriental, often staff their lobby with at least one member.
