Madiran

Madiran is a Southwest France appellation, straddling the Gers, Hautes-Pyrénées and Pyrénées-Atlantiques, dedicated to red wines dominated by tannat. This grape, with its powerful tannins and completed by cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon, expresses itself on clay limestone and gravel soils. It gives robust, tannic reds suited to long cellar ageing, whose structure softens and melds after several years of maturing in the bottle.
