Mourvedre

Mourvedre is a late-ripening red grape of Spanish origin, known there as Monastrell. Demanding of heat and sunshine, it dominates the Bandol appellation in Provence and rounds out the southern Rhone GSM blend. It yields deep, tannic and structured wines with aromas of blackberry, pepper, leather and game. Its abundance of tannin and colour makes it a long-lived wine that rewards several years of patient cellaring.
