Private jet sharing

Accessing business aviation through fractional ownership, prepaid jet cards or hourly memberships, instead of buying the aircraft outright (a new jet costs USD 5 to 30 million). NetJets, owned by Berkshire Hathaway since 1998, leads the global market; VistaJet (based in Malta) is the international challenger, with Flexjet and Wheels Up rounding out the major names. Typical entry: USD 150,000 for 25 annual flight hours on a Citation, up to USD 800,000 for 50 hours on a Global 7500. The segment grew 40 percent between 2019 and 2024, fuelled by post-pandemic demand and lasting reluctance among wealthy travellers to share commercial cabins.
