Qubba
A dome or cupola in Islamic architecture and, by extension, the pavilion or mausoleum crowned by one. The qubba frequently caps sacred spaces, saints' tombs and ceremonial halls. Its hemispherical mass, sometimes set on a drum dressed with muqarnas, visually marks a place of importance within medinas and in palaces converted into heritage hotels, anchoring the silhouette of a property.
