Table candelabrum
A table candelabrum is a branched candlestick carrying several candles, set upon the table to light and adorn a ceremonial meal. In silver, bronze or crystal, it usually bears three to five arms and is aligned along the central axis of the setting. In palace dining the candle flames are lit just before the guests arrive, and the height of the arms is calculated so that the light never obstructs the line of sight between diners seated across the table.
