The Gritti Palace (Venice)
The Gritti Palace occupies a Gothic palazzo on Venice's Grand Canal, shaped from 1475 by the Pisani family and then the private residence of Doge Andrea Gritti from 1525. Facing the Church of the Salute in the San Marco sestiere, the building became a hotel in 1895. Bought in 1947 by the Compagnia Italiana Grandi Alberghi, it now belongs to Marriott's Luxury Collection.
