The Hamptons

['The Hamptons', 'Hamptons Long Island']

The Hamptons refers to the chain of coastal villages on the south-eastern tip of Long Island, New York, stretching from Westhampton to Montauk over roughly 70 kilometres. The territory concentrates a clientele of New York second-home owners who reach the shore each Friday evening by jitney, helicopter or Hampton Reserve train. East Hampton, Southampton and Bridgehampton form the ultra-luxury core, where median property values exceed 3.5 million dollars in 2024. The hotel market remains structurally constrained because local zoning caps new room creation, which explains average rates above 1,200 dollars in peak season. A lesser-known feature : East Hampton airport records 25,000 private aviation movements each summer, making it the busiest private hub on the American East Coast.
