Vinho Verde

Vinho Verde refers to a large wine region in northwestern Portugal, in the Minho, whose name literally means green wine, a reference to its youthfulness rather than its colour. It produces mainly light, crisp, low alcohol whites, sometimes gently spritzy. Indigenous grapes include alvarinho, loureiro, trajadura and arinto, which bring sharp acidity, citrus notes and immediate freshness, making the wines favourites for early drinking on warm days.
