Waiter's corkscrew
The waiter's corkscrew, also called the sommelier knife, is a folding tool combining a helical worm, a small blade for cutting the foil and a lever with one or two notches. Compact enough to slip into a pocket, it allows a clean, discreet extraction in the dining room. The double notch provides a progressive lever that reduces the risk of snapping old, fragile corks. It remains the reference tool for wine service in restaurants.
