Walloon Brabant

Walloon Brabant designates the youngest Belgian province, created in 1995 with the splitting of unitary Brabant, and the smallest by area (1,097 square kilometres). Located south of Brussels, it gathers 27 municipalities including La Hulpe, Genval, Rixensart, Louvain-la-Neuve, Wavre and Nivelles. The territory combines castles, abbeys, the Sonian Forest to the north, and rolling farmland to the south. Premium hotel density is concentrated around Genval lake and La Hulpe's Solvay estate.
