A pueblo-style casita refers to a low adobe accommodation unit, modelled on the village architecture of the New Mexico and Arizona Pueblo peoples, featuring thick walls, flat viga-supported roofs, kiva fireplaces and portal terraces. The format spread through American Southwest ultra-luxury hotels between 1990 and 2010, answering demand for wellness retreats rooted in territory. A typical casita spans 50 to 90 square metres, hosts an individual fireplace and opens onto a private patio. A lesser-known feature : Sedona zoning mandates a sienna hue to preserve the landscape, forcing all operators to share the same palette. Nightly rates range from 900 to 3,200 dollars.
